For those of us who like to do a lot of DIY projects, or have homes that need some remodeling, we spend an awful lot of time at Home Depot and Lowe’s buying tools and supplies. So it can pay to know how to save money at Home Depot.
I’m currently mid-remodel on our master bathroom – and we’ve already done a total remodel of our kitchen, a powder room, and the entranceway. Plus lots of painting, some carpet and decorating many other rooms. That adds up to pretty big money all told. I’m always on the look out for ways to trim my home remodel expenses. Hopefully this guide will help you as well.
The master bathroom remodel is continuing along here at the Big Day Coming house. The going was pretty slow when we got past demolition and had to reroute the plumbing, frame out the new layout and get the drywall up.
But, over the last couple weeks we’ve managed to put down plywood to replace the sections we tore up to re-plumb, laid down cement board, put up drywall, done the electrical and tiled the floor. This past week we finally got the tile grouted and sealed and put the new toilet and vanity in. Thankfully the project started coming together much quicker once the plumbing and venting was done. I haven’t tackled a project that involved so much work in terms of re-plumbing and knocking down walls before, so the pace was a bit slow. Continue reading
We’re currently mid-remodel on our”master” bathroom here in the big Day Coming household. Last week, I was out in Silicon Valley California for a business trip, so when I returned Friday my father and I set up Saturday as another bathroom remodel working day. We’re trying to get as much work done on free days as we can before he and my mother head south for the winter. Here’s hoping we have a sustained Indian Summer to keep them up here longer…
